Word Of The Day

October 05, 2009

Set your affection on things above, not in things on the earth. (Colossians 3:2). If we focus on the things of this earth, we then focus on the things that are not like God. We should focus of Christ a d what He has taught and is currently teaching through the Holy Ghost. God is more than than we can ever imagine. He is bigger than the biggest mountain that we face. Be blessed!

A Lot Like The Father

so often we hrow up trying to emulate someone. It's oftentimes our parents, but sometimes other family members, friends, a coach or the guy at the tire shop just to name a few. Have you ever wonder, What makes a person want to be like someone else? This feeling goes back a long way. Perhaps the most obvious place in time was during the creation of man in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 1 the scripture speaks on God and His creation of all things, including man. It's here where we see the first revelant sign of emulation; in the capacity of acting and looking like someone else. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬ https://www.bible.com/1/gen.1.26.kjv This scripture is a very good indication of why it's such a strong desire fir us to be like someone. so, why do so many of of opt out of being like the creator? As I was pondering on this question, I asked myself, "the scripture chose to use two words that are synomous as if they carried their own totally seperate meaning. Image is Synomous to Likeness. Likeness is translated to image, copy, parity, dummy, counterfit, agreement, reflection, and sameness are just a few. The hebrew translation of Image is 'Tzelem' which is image, same, resemblence, copy. The Hebrew word for likeness is Demuth which refers to characteristics and traits. With this being said, we were created to look and act like the one that created and has rule over us. If we are serveants of the Kingdom, then we should look and act as such, but if we are servants of the world, then we will probably look and act as such.
